Paris Hosts Premier of Nikita Mikhalkov’s “12”

03.02.2010

Paris is hosting a premier of Nikita Mikhalkov’s film “12” at a cultural center Forum Des Images. The initiative makes a part of the promotion campaign of the Russian Oscar-winning filmmaker, conducted in the context of The Year of Russia in France, Vesti channel reports.

“This film is a reflection of contemporary Russia,” said a representative of Forum Des Images. “This viewpoint, regardless of it’s being subjective, allows the French audience to open Russia and to comprehend it”.

“Only genuinely Russian films [displaying the national specifics] can draw interest of the French audience,” said Nikita Mikhalkov.

For the past decade only several Russian films have been shown in France.
