150 European Cinema Halls to Host Live Satellite Transmission of The Bolshoi Theatre’s Ballet

On the evening of 31 of March 150 European cinema halls will host a live satellite transmission of The Flames of Paris, the ballet performed by the Bolshoi Theatre company. The transmission will be handled by a French company Bel Air Media.

As it has already been reported, live transmissions will take place in France, the UK, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and Ireland. This unique project is organized as part of The Cross Year: Russia-France.

The Flames of Paris – a classical ballet based on songs of the French Revolution and music by Boris Asafiev was originally choreographed by Vasily Vainonen in 1932. The original production and choreography was reconstructed in 2008 by Alexei Ratmansky for the Bolshoi Ballet.
