05.05.2009

Using a grant provided by the Russkiy Mir Foundation, the Vjatcheslav Ivanov Research Center in Rome has completed a project entitled “The Legacy of Vjatcheslav Ivanov: A Meeting of Humanistic Ideas from Russia and Italy.” As part of the project, a website (http://www.v-ivanov.it/) has been created, which makes digitized copies of the center’s Roman archive available online. Among the materials available are poems, articles, translations, Ivanov’s letters and books from his library.

Vjatcheslav Ivanov was a well known Russian Symbolist poet, philosopher and translator. He was one of the conceptual founders of the Silver Age. From the 1920s until his death on July 16, 1949, Ivanov lived in Italy.
