The key concept of the festival is to present plays against a special historical and architectural background, i.e. close to historical sites. At present the Expert council of the festival is making up a list of plays to be presented in summer. This year applications were received from Russia-based theatres and from abroad. This project has traditionally gathered the best theatrical companies from Russia, Belorussia, Ukraine, Greece and Italy, which have presented over a hundred plays altogether.
The 10th International Theatre Festival Voices of History will run in June 24 – July, 2, 2010.
