Theatre Festival “Voices of History” to be Held in Vologda

The 10th International Theatre Festival Voices of History will be held in Vologda this summer.  Among the organizers is the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Union of Theatrical, the Theater Union of Russia, the Government of Vologda region and Vologda City Administration.

The key concept of the festival is to present plays against a special historical and architectural background, i.e. close to historical sites. At present the Expert council of the festival is making up a list of plays to be presented in summer. This year applications were received from Russia-based theatres and from abroad. This project has traditionally gathered the best theatrical companies from Russia, Belorussia, Ukraine, Greece and Italy, which have presented over a hundred plays altogether.

The 10th International Theatre Festival Voices of History will run in June 24 – July, 2, 2010.
