Novgorod to Host Rachmaninoff Competition of Young Pianists

International Rachmaninoff Competition of Young Pianists will take place in his hometown – Novgorod the Great on April 26-30, RIA Novosti reports. The competition is aimed for pianists between 12 and 16 years of age.

The event will also comprise workshops for pianists and their teachers. The results announcement and the final concert are scheduled for April 30.

The first International Rachmaninoff Competition of Young Pianists took place in Novgorod the Great in 1995 and is conducted once in two-three years. The competition runs in the frame of the International Sergei Rachmaninoff Festival, which will kick off this year on April 16.
