19.01.2015

With the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation, the book titled “About My Path” by Metropolitan Cornelius of Tallinn and All Estonia will be made available for those who read in the Estonian language.

The first edition of the book in Russian was published in 2009, coinciding with the 85th birthday of the head of the Estonian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate, with subsequent additions coming out in 2011 and 2013. The recollections of Metropolitan Cornelius are “an honest and unembellished panorama of the life of the Church and several generations of our compatriots, wrote Filaret, Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk, in the preface to the first edition.

In recent times great interest in the Orthodox faith has been observed among the Estonian speakers of the country. The publication of the book in Estonian is part of the celebrations of the 90th birthday of Metropolitan Cornelius. The aim of this project undertaken by the Estonian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate is to popularize Russian history and culture, facilitate a climate of inter-ethnic respect and inter-confessional dialogue.

The book will be made available at Orthodox churches throughout Estonia as well as libraries and educational institutions across the country.
