Arbenin’s Mask in Santiago

13.01.2015

In accordance with the prescheduled program, a theatre workshop was held with the participation of Russian speaking and Chilean acting groups under the guidance of invited stage directors from Russia (Sergey Filippov) and Chile (Hector Noguera). The event was conducted in the city of Santiago from December 12th to 19th, in the premises of the Russian Center of Science and Culture and Camino Theatre.

In addition to classes and rehearsals devoted to studying dramatic fragments from Lermontov’s works, public master classes were held as well as the presentations of creative results of the workshop at Camino Theatre (December 18) and in the Russian Center of Science and Culture (December 19).

The process of the workshop studies became the material for making a short documentary titled Arbenin’s Mask. The filming was carried out throughout the whole week by a cine crew led by Antonio Caro-Berezin. At the present moment the editing work is about to commence, along with color and sound processing for the project completion.
