University of Barcelona Hosts Training Course in Teaching Russian to Foreigners

10.11.2015

The Slavic Philology Department at the University of Barcelona with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation is hosting a training course in teaching Russian as a foreign language from 30 October to 4 December 2015.

The course is primarily targeted at students—future Russian language experts. Over 100 people are studying Russian as a foreign language at the University of Barcelona. However, as a number of educational reforms were implemented in Spain, the discipline related to teaching Russian as a foreign language was excluded from the Modern Languages and Literatures bachelor’s program, making the training course a necessity.

The course attracted not only students but also Russian language teachers from Barcelona’s language schools. According to the organizers, 75 people enrolled in the course.

The course includes lectures and workshops held by professors from the University of Barcelona, the Udmurt State University and the St. Petersburg State University.
