Music and Literature Festival “These Lines Are About Russia…” Continues

01.12.2015

On 22-27 November 2015, the Centers of Russian Language and Culture at the Hulunbuir Institute (Hailar) and the Manchuria Institute under the Inner Mongolia University (Manchuria) with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation hosted a music and literature festival “These Lines Are About Russia…” dedicated to the Year of Literature.

The program of the event included Russian song contests, poetry recitals, theater performances and presentations on the values of the Russian culture. Students were able both to learn about the Russian arts and literature and to demonstrate their own knowledge and talents.

The literary evening dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of Sergei Yesenin was especially successful with Chinese students and teachers of Russian language. The music and literature event “Russia. Motherland. Victory!” featuring wartime songs and poems, as well as excerpts from modern films on the Great Patriotic War, was also popular with the audience.

Gala night “Dialogue of Cultures” was conceived as an evening of friendship, bringing together laureates of four contests. The Transbaikal State University delegation gave a commendable presentation of national dress, dance, songs and games. The festival took place in the atmosphere of friendship and understanding. The winners were given certificates and presents.

The music and literature festival continues. A similar event will take place at another Center of Russian Language and Culture, this time at the Qiqihar University. The event was organized by the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language at the Transbaikal State University (Chita, Russia) in conjunction with the Institute of Russian Language and Culture at the Hulunbuir Institute (Hailar, China) and the Manchuria Institute under the Inner Mongolia University (Manchuria, China).
