Minsk Hosts International Pedagogical Club's Final Forum

On 18-20 December 2015, the international forum ‘Thread of Historical Memory: A Tribute to the 70th Anniversary of the Great Victory’ took place in Minsk. The forum was the final event in a series organized by the International Pedagogical Club in 2015 under the authority of the Belarusian Education Ministry. The events were dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory, the Year of Youth in Belarus and the Year of Literature in Russia.

The opening ceremony entitled ‘The Cranes Are Flying’ was held on 18 December at the Akhremchik Art College. The organizers demonstrated video messages from patriot organizations based in Russia, Ukraine, Georgia and Latvia and awarded winners of thematic contests. Sergei Shurygin, Deputy Executive Director of the Russkiy Mir Foundation, greeted the forum’s participants.

The forum included a panel session ‘Spiritual, Moral and Patriotic Education of Individuals in Modern World. From the Experience of the Belarusian Education System” at the Belarus State University. On 19 December, Gurtyev Middle School No. 70 hosted a meeting of the Coordinating Council of the International Pedagogical Society ‘For Russian Language’ and the International Pedagogical Club, as well as a presentation of the Russian Children’s Book Foundation (Moscow, Russia).

The meeting brought together education and civil officials from schools and universities, educators’ clubs and compatriot associations based in 12 different countries.
