“These Lines Are About Russia…” Festival Held in North China

22.12.2015

The Center of Russian Language and Culture at the Qiqihar University has hosted a music and literature festival “These Lines Are About Russia…” dedicated to the Year of Literature.

Students of the university took part in Russian song contests, poetry recitals, theater performances and presentations on the values of the Russian culture. They demonstrated their knowledge and creativity.

Students were especially impressed with the events organized by the Transbaikal State University (Chita, Russia). The literary evening dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of Sergei Yesenin acquainted the public with the poet’s life and works, songs adapted from his poems and Yesenin’s biopic. The music and literature event “Russia. Motherland. Victory!” featuring wartime songs and poems, as well as excerpts from modern films on the Great Patriotic War, was also popular with the audiences.

The gala night “Dialogue of Cultures” included the best festival numbers and performances by contest winners, as well as an award ceremony.

A month earlier, the festival “These Lines Are About Russia…” was held in two universities in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
