Youth Forum Opens in Sevastopol

The 5th International Youth Forum “Word is a Major Deed” organized by the Sevastopol State University and International pedagogical club and supported by the Russian World Foundation started on February 23 in Sevastopol. 

The opening ceremony attracted such presenters as L. Dudova, Member of the Presidential Council on the Russian language and Chairman of the non-profit organization “Association of teachers of literature and Russian language”, L. Chizhova, Executive Director of the Children books foundation, I. Leonov, Member of the non-profit organization “Association of teachers of literature and Russian language”, A. Kondryakova, President of the International pedagogical club, as well as guests from Petrozavodsk and Minsk. 

After the opening ceremony, participants of a round table discussion touched upon the issues of patriotism and multiculturalism. Young people voiced their opinions and shared their common understanding on such important issues as moral education and careful attitude towards spiritual heritage and traditions of the Homeland. Many of the guests were impressed by the ingenuousness and sensibility of the young people who see patriotism not as a trend, but as a necessary aspect for further development not only in Sevastopol and Crimea, but also in the whole country.
