III Russian Language Olympiad in Hulunbuir, China

On 23 April 2016, delegation of the Zabaykalsky State University, Department of Russian as foreign language, Faculty of Philology and mass communication, consisting of Liliana Voronova and Larisa Butylskaya, joined the jury of the III Russian language Olympiad organized by the Institute of Russian language and culture of the Hulunbuir University.  

The event took place at the Russian language and culture center opened in 2013 by the Zabaykalsky State University with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation; the Olympiad had three stages. There were three teams formed of the students of the first, second and third years of education. The first year students could also participate in the calligraphy competition.

Representatives of the Institute of Russian language and culture showed a very high level of Russian, they also know a lot about Russian culture in general. Based on the results, the winners received their awards.

Larisa Butylskaya, senior professor of the Department of Russian as foreign language, organized a workshop for the students and trainers of the Institute; the workshop was dedicated to the Russian cinema.  

On 24 April 2016, the Center hosted a round table “Russian Studies in China: Traditions and Innovations”. Teachers discussed various issues of the education reform in China, innovative approaches of teaching Russian to foreigners, intercultural education, establishment of ethnicity based text book of Russian as foreign language, and many more.

The events, organized on 23-24 April 2016 at the Russian language and culture center, helped students to learn new things, helped to strengthen intercultural and research links between the universities.
