Russian Universum under Сonditions of Globalization

01.11.2016

On 26-28 October 2016, the Arzamas branch of Lobachevsky State University of Nizhni Novgorod with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation hosted the all-Russian scientific conference Russian Universun under Conditions of Globalization. The urgent character of the conference is characterized by the fact that the main subject it dealt with was the idea of historical coherent universalism instead of the idea of dominating, prevalence and dictate. The world cultural and natural heritage belonging to the mankind requires scientific categorization, research and ideologization.

Over 100 scientists from Moscow, Belgorod, Yalta, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk, Voronezh, Vladivostok, Veliky Novgorod, Glazov, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Kursk, Novosibirsk, Saratov, Saransk, Smolensk, Syktyvkar, Nizhny Novgorod, Tolyatti, Yaroslavl and other Russian towns and cities took part in the conference. Belorussian and Cyprian scientists were present at the conference as well making it an international event.

The conference program included 3 plenary meetings, work of 6 sections, round-able sessions and disputes on the following subjects: Global technologies and spiritual culture, Russian education under contemporary conditions, What does "to be Russian" mean: Russia’s historical troubles, History and contemporaneity: Russia under conditions of the global world and the discussion of the book named Contemporary World and its Background written by V.A. Nikonov.

The all-Russian conference Russian Universum under conditions of globalization is the way to hold a dialog between inherently valued cultures and search for compromise between them. That sort of dialogue joined philosophers (V.A. Kutyrev, N.A. Khrenov, E.V. Listvina, L.E. Shaposhnikov, A.M. Dorozhkin, A.M. Pischik, O.V. Parilov, L.A. Poelueva and others), historians (A.A. Kuznetsov, M.I. Rykhtik and others), sociologists (G.S. Shirokalova), philologists (V.A. Fortunatova, L.A. Klimkova, V.A. Koshelev, D.F. Kayumova, N.M. Fortunatov and others), cultural specialists (T.S. Zlotnikova, V.A. Sulimov and others) and educators (L.A. Shestakov, Yu.V. Filippov and others), who tried to find answers to the raised questions.

The conference ended with summarizing its results, and handing over letters of acknowledgment to the members of the program committee, moderators, educational and media partners. Special acknowledgment was given to Candidate of Philological Sciences reader in Russian literature E.V. Valeeva and Candidate of pedagogic sciences assistant professor at the sub-faculty of Applied Information Science S.V. Napalkov for arranging and holding the conference events and to students of the faculty of history and philology who took an active part in the round-table sessions and the work of sections.
