Alexander Orlov, the Russian Ambassador to France in his interview to TASS said that Russia and France have prepared a range of activities devoted to the 300th anniversary of Peter the Great’s visit to Paris.

This spring Peter the Great’s Congress will take place in Paris. The invited international scientists will make presentations on the significance of this visit to the history and will touch upon other important subjects. Round tables and discussion forums are on the agenda as well. The main purpose of the Congress is to learn more about the heritage of Peter the Great epoch and to promote cultural tourism.

The exhibition, dedicated to Peter the Great’s visit to the French capital, will welcome visitors in Versailles in May. Russian and French leading museums and high educational institutions will participate in the above-mentioned activities.

Peter the Great’s visit to Paris in April – May 1717 resulted in firm diplomatic relations between two countries.
