Days of Russian Literature open today at Zurich House of Literature (Literaturhaus Zürich). The event falls midway between a festival and an academic conference. Writers, journalists, and editors from Russia, such as Mikhail Shishkin, Ilma Rakusa, Liudmila Ulitskaya, Giuzel Yahina will take part in this event.

The conference started with the dialog between Liudmila Ulitskaya and Ilma Rakusa on historic and cultural Russian heritage and reflection of these issues in Russian literature. Master classes for translators and various discussions on other actual topics are also planned as a part of the event.

One of the principal conference organizers Isabelle Vonlanthen assumes that processes of formation and formatting of Russian national heritage deeply connected with social, cultural and political contexts are very important not only for Russian citizens but also for Europeans truly interested in those topics.
