Russian Universities welcome growing number of foreign students

RUDN/Facebook A number of students from abroad coming to study in Russia is increasing. They are interested mainly in engineering and technical specializations. Besides, many of them come to learn the Russian language here, RIA Novosti reports. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Olga Golodets made this comment after the council meeting about “5 – 100” project was over. According to her, information science and physics are prioritized directions.

Deputy Prime Minister has reminded that twenty-one universities participate in “5-100” project of competitive growth among national higher educational institutions. All of the participants demonstrated systematic improvement of their performance over the four-year period. Five of the universities are among top 100 university ratings. 

Russia does its best to raise the image of national educational system, its popularity and recognition at the international market of the learning services. This work will result in support of Russian technologies and economics boost.

“5-100” project of competitive growth among national higher educational institutions supposes that five Russian universities will enter the list of Top 100 leading universities of the world by 2020.
