International Diaghilev Festival started in Perm

International Diaghilev Festival started in Perm on May 14, TASS reports. It is conducted here for eleventh time. This year MusicAeterna directed by Theodor Kurentis opened the festival with the First Gustav Mahler's symphony and the Violin concert 'To the Memory of Angel' by Alban Berg with 29-year old outstanding violinist Aylen Pritchin.

There are many engaging events that would capture attention of the most picky audience, like night concerts, underwater performances, promenade shows.

Several first-time performances will take place as well. Wedding opera by Ana Sokolovich engage 6 singers a-cappella style. The plot is based on the Serbian tradition of a bride's preparation in a circle of friends and relatives. The world premier of Cantos opera by Aleksey Sumak written on the order of Perm theater of Opera and Ballet will 'oppose' Ana Sokolovich' opera. In this case the instrumental part prevails over the vocal part. The main role is played by a violinist. Choir and percussion are also a part of the show.

Another world premier will be choreography performance Atom Disintegration by Lilya Burdinskaya.

At the end of the festival several Stravinsky's ballets staged by famous Russian choreographers V. Samodurov, V. Varnava and A. Miroshnichenko will be on stage.

Around 50 events in theaters and 150 actions on the theater square are awaiting their spectators, including adults, families and kids.
