First Mother Russia festival in Buenos Aires

First Mother Russia festival in Buenos Aires involved Russian dance and musical groups, and single performers, TASS informs. The festival is organised by the local city administration. According to them, such festivals of various cultures are conducted each year “to show an identity of each community living in Buenos Aires.”

The huge number of compatriots have come to see the show. Among all performers, Chaika ensemble has caused the greatest success.

Buenos Aires General Director of Collectivities Adrian Varela has stressed that Russian community plays an important part in life and history of the city.

Festival organisers treated all guests with Russian cuisine dishes. They have informed the community of two major events in Russia, 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and 19th World Festival of Youth and Students that is coming to Russia this fall.

South-American Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church have build chapel pavilion where believers could pray. ROC representatives have answered visitors' questions.

Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots and Russian Embassy in US supported the event.
