A plan of returning Russian children currently living in Syria and Iraq will be developed with consideration of interests of all relevant organizations and structures, as per Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Anna Kuznetsova, RIA Novosti informs. This question was raised at the meeting with participation of Embassies’ top officials of Syria and Iraq, Foreign Ministry officials and regional representatives of our country.

Parents of the children are Russian citizens who became dependent on the Islamic State organization banned in Russia and left Russia for Iraq. However, in a few years parents abandoned their children to the mercy of the fate. Thus, more than three hundred children were illegally moved to the Middle Eastern countries.

As per the public defender, mechanisms of returning children back home exist, but they are very slow, besides this process is impeded by excessive bureaucracy. Anna Kuznetsova has explained that they try to find efficient schemes, which work much faster, in the field of legal law.

According to her, out of all the propositions made during the meeting, the most popular one was creation of a specialized committee to gather all information about such children. The next measure will be to create a contact group to contain all people working with these kids. Later a roadmap representing clear scheme of actions to be taken in each particular case will be worked out.

Anna Kuznetsova has named main issues about returning Russian children under age back home, which are the absence of documents and a civil position of children born at the territory of Syria and Iraq.
