Week of Russian language in Shanghai

Flickr/MartinoFirst week of Russian language took place in Shanghai, TASS reports. It was conducted in Peter the Great St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University branch. Specialists from this university were teaching. All those who study Russian could participate in this event. The lectures were adjusted on all levels of Russian language knowledge – from the very beginners to fluent.

The program included advanced training teachers' courses, lectures on various subjects, express-courses for beginners, language knowledge assessment. Not only students and teachers but all city inhabitants with genuine interest for the Russian language were invited. More than 200 people participated in the event.

There was a contest in the frames of the Week of Russian language. Two winners received free two-week internships at St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University branch.

The head of Consulate General of Shanghai Alexey Evsikov has noted that this city becomes one of the main Russian language centers in China. He has also marked growing interest of young generation.

The photography and educational materials exhibition dedicated to Chinese students' study in SPBSTU branch was conducted in the frames of the event.

Everybody was invited to the club Welcome to Russia. Guests enjoyed folklore songs and tasted Russian national cuisine as well.

It is already agreed that Russian language week will be conducted two times next year. Online courses are to be open for Chinese students very soon.
