Russian literature book exhibition starts in Paris

Diocese of KorsunThird Russian Literature book exhibition opens in Paris, Russian witness website advises. The event is organized in Russian spiritual-cultural center in Branly and will be dedicated to 100th anniversary of October Revolution 1917, which changed the history of XX century.

Unlike usual book fair, the present exhibition will abound in discussions, round tables and other activities. Writers, historians, philosophers having dedicated their lives to Russian literature will have a chance to communicate and share opinions with each other and guests of the exhibition.

The opening ceremony of the book exhibition will take place on October 6. Russian Ambassador to France Alexander Orlov and Rospechyat director Mikhail Seslavinskiy are going to take part in it. Today, presentation of the book under title Secret History of Russian Revolution: One Hundred Documents from Unpublished Archives by historian Victor Lupan and other meetings will take place today.

Fans of Russian history might be interested in presentations of books of our compatriots Alexander Zhevakoff Civil War in Russia 1917-1922 and The French in Revolution in Moscow by Sophie Askenof which will take place on Saturday, October 7. Poetry reading sessions with participation of contemporary French and Russian poets are planned at that day too.

Meetings, round tables and book presentations dedicated to contemporary literature and events of 1917 will continue on Sunday. The book exhibition will end up with concert of Lessia Tyshkovska who will sing songs after verses by Boris Pasternak, Marina Tsvetaeva, Anna Akhmatova and Joseph Brodsky.
