Russian Center in Nicaragua: unique chance to learn Russian and get to know Russia

unan.edu.niRusskiy Mir Foundation inaugurated three Russian Centers at different continents of the world just over a few days. Russian Center was opened in Syria with gala ceremony the day before. Despite the natural disaster, Russian Center in Costa Rica started to work several days earlier. The gala opening of Russian Center in National Autonomous University of Nicaragua took place on October 9 as a part of the official visit of delegation of Russkiy Mir Foundation to Central America.

Nicaragua students, graduates of Soviet and Russian universities as well as Russian compatriots participated in the event. Special guests of the event are Nicaraguan president’s envoy for trade-and economic and investment cooperation with Russia Laureano Ortega, Chief of National Council of Universities Telemaco Talavera, Russia’s Ambassador to Nicaragua Andrey Budaev.

Andrey Budaev has congratulated the rector with Russian Center opening stressing out that the idea of its foundation came up last year and now after it has been implemented, the center will help learning the language, culture and traditions of Russia.

Dancing troupes of Nicaragua, UNAN-Managua musical orchestra and music band after Camilo Sapat performed for the guests.

Executive Director of the Russkiy Mir Foundation Vladimir Kochin has mentioned that the foundation provided a library, media center, exhibitions, Soviet and Russian movies and everything, which might be useful for those who are going to study Russian and interested in culture of our country.

Symbolic ribbon cutting ceremony took place by the door of Russian Center, fully equipped and ready for operations.
