Patents of Russian scientists since 1878 to be digitalized and published online

Boris Yeltsin Presidential library Presidential library plans to digitalize all patents ever handed out to Russian scientists for inventions of the world significance, TASS reports. The e-collection will contain patents for an electric bulb, a radio-receiving set, inventions in the field of aerodynamics and many others stored at the State Patent Foundation.

The earliest patent was issued in 1878. It belongs to the well-known Russian electrical engineer Pavel Yablochkov for so-called Yablochkov’s candle – an electric bulb. He has other inventions among them being current channeling and a new galvanic battery.

Besides, patents for inventions by Nikolay Zhukovsky will be published openly. He discovered basics of aerodynamics. It will be possible to get acquainted with space flight theories by Konstantin Tsiolkovsky. Besides, there will be a copy of patent for a receiver of messages sent by electromagnetic waves invented by Russian physicist and electrical engineer, professor and radio inventor Alexander Popov.

The Patent Foundation of the Presidential Library will be supplied with digital copies of patents of inventions made by foreign scientists in future.
