International Cultural Forum starts in St. Petersburg

Flickr/2bennyMore than a thousand people from abroad and about twenty thousand Russians will take part at the International Cultural Forum in St. Petersburg. It will be the sixth forum and it will be opened on November 16, as per the website of the Ministry of Culture.

According to the Vice-Premier of The Russian government Olga Golodets, one hundred and two grounds will be opened at the forum.

Representatives of almost fifty different countries promise to visit St. Petersburg. Among them are African, European, Latin American and Asian countries.

Organizers explain that several anniversaries will be celebrated at the forum, including 100th anniversary of the Great October Revolution, 100th anniversary of Fedor Khitruk and Yuri Lyubimov as well as 135th jubilee of Igor Stravinsky.

The Ice movie premiere and The Crocodile theatre performance by National Theatre of Hungary staged by Valery Fokin are scheduled at the forum. Denis Matsuev, Boris Berezovsky, Valery Gergiev will perform for the audience. Russian International Jazz Festival will be organized for the first time as well as traditional awarding ceremonies of Sponsor of the Year Award and the Lunacharsky Award.

One of the central events is a conference under the title Culture in Revolution. Revolution in Culture. 1917-2017 supervised by academician Alexander Chubaryan. Around 50 agreements between cultural organizations will be signed at the business programme of the forum.
