Vandals spilt cement on Eternal Flame in Kiev

pixabay.comVandals attacked the Eternal Flame in Kiev, RIA Novosti informs. Unknown criminals spilt cement over the memorial at Eternal Glory Park.

The local mass media informed about the incident today, on November 7. The police were called by a passer-by. The police are finding out details of the accident.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called the accident an act of blasphemy, RIA Novosti informs. He has commented that desecration of monuments goes against the European values and principles established by UN. The diplomat has underlined that such cases in Ukraine are frequent which proves inability of country’s authorities to stop ultra-radicals and neo-Nazis.

As per the Russkiy Mir Foundation, vandals destroy monuments at Ukraine spilling paints over them and stealing parts of the memorials. Unknown criminals spilt red paint over the memorial in honor of commander-in-chief Nikolay Vatutin set in Poltava.

A wreath made of bronze was stolen from the Hill of Glory in Lvov located in the Central Park of Culture and Rest. Desecration of memorials to Warriors – Liberators in Lvov has obtained threatening scale. Unknown vandals stole letters and figures of metal from the commemorative plate at the grave of the Hero of the Soviet Union the intelligence officer Nikolay Kuznetsov.
