US legal system won't let Russian prisoners out

pixabay.comAs for now it is not possible to bring back home Russian prisoners serving sentences in United States prisons because US authorities are not eager to make review of the conviction, RIA Novosti reports. According to the the Representative of the Russian Federation, Director of the Humanitarian Cooperation and Human Rights Department, Representative of the MFA of Russia for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law Anatoly Viktorov, American side doesn't want to review the conviction despite the fact that most of the allegations are false.

RF representative has noted that Russian Embassy representatives keep in contact with families and lawyers of imprisoned, and also visit regularly all Russian inmates, including Viktor Bout and Konstantin Yaroshenko.

The diplomat has also reminded that the former Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs at the US Department of State Victoria Nuland has frankly stated that Bout and Yaroshenko who had not admitted their guilt, have remain in jail to make other Russian defendants to be more cooperative with US justice system.

Nevertheless, Russian Foreign Ministry continues to seek possibility to return imprisoners home, Anatoly Viktorov has added. This question is continuously raises during negotiations on all levels, including high-level talks.
