Russian Foreign Ministry jokes about interference of Russia into internal affairs of other countries

29.12.2017

Russian Foreign MinistryRussian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergei Lavrov in his interview at the International Headrig comic TV show has made a joke acknowledging interference of Russia into internal affairs of other states, TASS reports.

Answering the host Tigran Keosanyan’s question about elections in the European countries, Minister has ironically remarked that he forgot to enumerate all what Russia has managed to fulfill this year. You did not mention everything what Russia had done this year. Switzerland, Denmark, Montenegro, Austria and Macedonia. We had to work hard, but it was not easy, Lavrov said. The diplomat has joked that due to hard work he did not have time for other things, in particular, for development of cultural ties with Japan. However, some advances in this direction have been made: a large-scale festival is conducted in the country of the Rising Sun with great success. Minister has joked that Russia failed to dethrone Akihito Emperor, though Russia is doing its best.

It is worth reminding that the theme of interference of Russian intelligence services into pre-election Presidential campaign in US and Parliament elections in other countries, in particular, Montenegro and Austria have been raised many times last year. The top officials of the Russian Federation such as Vladimir Putin and Sergei Lavrov have always denied this fact asking not to demonize Russian authorities.
