The monument depicts an open book out of black granite with rock inclusions. The author of the project is sculptor Alexander Kirilin. The stone inscription written in two languages (Russian and English) reads as follows The mulberry tree is planted in John Eveling’s garden in 1698 by Russian Tsar Peter the Great who lived in Sayes court during his visit to England with the Great Embassy mission.

Russia’s Ambassador Alexander Yakovenko, in his turn, expressed his gratitude to the local community, which is taking care of the tree and is cherishing memory about the visit of the Russian Tsar to London. It's worth mentioning he mulberry tree was included into the list of leaders of the British contest The Tree of the Year. Besides, it still bears fruit.
