15.02.2018

Sakhalin Island has entered a list of the most fascinating places on the planet, the Russian Newspaper reports. The Island was included into the ranking comprised by TravelPluse American magazine. As per the magazine, the ranking is based on beauties of nature and how far the place is in relation to traditional tourist destinations.

The Sakhalin Island took 6th place out of 15 possible. It was complemented for the great number of sights, its changeable weather and a unique bumpy landscape. The journalists believe that the island is especially fascinating at the end of summer and at the beginning of autumn.

In their words, travellers going to Russia often visit Moscow, Saint Petersburg or the Black Sea coast of Sochi missing a chance to see many other interesting places, such as Sakhalin, for example.

The first line of the ranking belongs to the Easter Island, while Madagascar is on the second place. The Malta Bay of Gore Lesley closes the three favourites. Then goes Republic of Nauru, Deception Island in the Antarctic Ocean and the inhabited archipelago Tristan da Cunha in the south Atlantic Ocean.
