Russian figure skaters twice for 10 minutes hit short program world record

First Olympic gold in PyeoungChang can be brought by Russian figure skaters, TASS reports. The day before Alina Zagitova set the world’s record in the short programme in women’s singles. 15-year-old debuting star completed a short figure skating programme with 82,92 scores. This season is first for her in adult skating and it has been quite successful so far. This year she won the European Championships and became the acting Champion of Europe. She also won 2017 Grand Prix.

The previous record set also by a Russian figure skater was active for just 10 minutes. Eugenia Medvedeva got 81,61 scores for her short figure skating programme setting the previous record.

As a result, Alina Zagitova took the first place, Evgenia Medvedeva became second.

According to the athletes, they are not thinking of possible medals, rather concentrating on their own performances. The most important thing is to achieve good results and demonstrate the best performance ever.
