Saint Petersburg is nominated for three “Touristic Oscar” awards, TASS reports. Northern capital was nominated for the Best European Destination, Best Weekend Travel, Best Cruise Destination by the World Travel Awards (WTA).

As the city administration noted, Saint Petersburg is the most popular weekend destination for Russians. The city has also entered the the top three as a best destination for vacation with kids on winter time.

The Best Cruise Destination award is a specially-focused niche but this achievement is very important for the city. In particular, St. Petersburg plans to create a registered ferry operator.

Let us remember, at the end of 2017 St. Petersburg received two prestigious World Travel Awards, Europe's Leading City Destination and Europe's Leading Cultural City Destination.
