More than 475 000 of people cast ballots at the Russian presidential elections beyond Russia, RIA Novosti informs.

According to the Russian Central Electoral Committee representative Vasily Likhachev, around 56 000 people out of the total number came to the polling stations in advance. These figures exceed the number of voters during the previous presidential election held a year ago and the Russian parliament elections held two years ago. Overall, 401 polling stations were open in 145 countries of the world for the presidential election this year.

Vladimir Putin got almost 85% of votes from the Russians living or staying currently out of Russia.

Note that a record number of people came to vote to some polling stations, there were long queues in some cities. Diplomats in all representative offices remark that there has never been such keen interest to the presidential election before.

The only country to disrupt the presidential election was Ukraine.
