500 Syrian students will study in Russia for free

500 Syrian students will enter Russian universities this year.  This quotation is allocated for 2018/2019 academic year for the Syrian Arab Republic. Though there are even more people wishing to study in Russia. At present, 1500 Syrian nationals applied for studying in Russian universities, the Rossotrudnichestvo website reports.

The Rossotrudnichestvo director Eleonora Mitrofanova discussed peculiarities of entering Russian higher educational institutions and other educational system topics with Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riad Haddad.

Syrian Ambassador has reminded that beginning from 2014 Syrian schoolchildren have started studying Russian as the second foreign language. Therefore, the high demand in new pedagogical staff is obvious. Russia has offered to organize distant training courses for Syrian specialists on the Russian language. 

Anagreement to continue a dialogue on the action plan coordination concerning teaching Russian in Syria.
