The Yuri Gagarin’s bust was unveiled in honor of the 57th anniversary of the first manned flight into space in Panama. The monument was presented to the Republic by Dialogue of Cultures – United World Fund, IA Interfax informs.

The bust was set in the national administrative office of science, technologies and innovations. The honored guests of the event were Russian Ambassador to Panama Boris Marchuk and representatives of the Coordinating Council of Compatriots living abroad. The photo exhibition by cosmonaut Sergei Ryazansky was a part of the celebrations.

Another bust of the first cosmonaut was opened in the South-Korean city of Hwaseong right before the Day of Cosmonautics. “This event is to become a positive impulse to further development and reinforcement of ties between South Korea and Russia in the fields of science and culture,” organizers noted.

Among the honored guests of the ceremony were Russian Ambassador to South Korea Alexander Timonin and director of the Korean Aerospace Research Institute Im Cholho.
