Moscow Days started the day before in Mexico city, TASS informs. The festival agenda comprises performances by national music bands and creative ensembles, artistic exhibitions and craft master classes. The gala opening ceremony was held at the Zocalo square – a traditional venue for international fairs of friendly cultures.

According to the head of Moscow department for external economic and international relations, the festival is conducted in Mexico City for the first time and it is a great event in relations between the capital cities of the two countries. Moscow and Mexico are developing close bilateral relations for many years, he added.

The Latin American country population will get acquainted with Russian folk songs and dances performed by the Golden Ring ensemble. Moscow Chamber Schnittke Orchestra’s performance is scheduled as well. Besides, Mexican population is to see how Russia is preparing for FIFA World Cup - 2018.

An extensive business agenda is awaiting the festival guests. In particular, meetings with Mexican colleagues, presentations of economic, investment and touristic potential of Moscow. There will be a round table on cooperation in the sphere of traffic management. Besides, the agreement on the collaborative program between the two city zoos is expected to be signed.
