«Russian without sanctions. Does Russian language teacher need professionalism or courage?»  international conference has concluded. The names of 50 winners are kept in secret for now - they will be named only on June, 6th, on Pushkin's birthday, Rossiyskaya newspaper reports.

According to the jury, the topic of this year was very critical, evoking a vivid response from contestants.

Participants from 34 countries applied to participate this year. Essays from UK and Vietnam are presented for the first time. Some interesting papers were written by American and Ukrainian teacher.

One of the Ukrainian participants wrote that sometimes it's hard to ask the students «Which language is your native?» because parent's reaction might be unpredicted.

The term Linguocide was recently invented by Russian language specialists in Ukraine.

There are also some good news: The Year of Support of the Native Russian Language» was claimed in Ulan-Bator. Around 3,000 students have received the government quota to continue education abroad, and 500 will go to study in Russia.

The contest organisers conclude that despite all troubles the Russian language continues to be popular.
