Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a meeting of the Governmental Commission on the Affairs of Compatriots Abroad. It was held in Moscow the day before, according to the official website of the Ministry.

Preparation for the World Congress of Russian compatriots living abroad was a focus of attention. It will be the 6th session in a row, and its moto this year will be Russia and Compatriots: New Challenges and New Boarders. The forum participants will summon up the work performance and discuss main branches of interaction to come in perspective.

Among the key subjects are continuation of work on joining the Russian community, attraction of the young generation, questions of support and protection of rights and legal interests of the compatriots. Besides, problems of education in the Russian language in other countries, activities of the Russian media and creation of the unbiased image of the Russian Federation abroad. 

The following International Youth Forum was discussed in the course of the meeting. Young leaders and activists will be invited at the meeting for the 4th time. The venue of the Forum is the Bulgarian capital. The forum will start at the beginning of October. Participants will work out new communications’ forms with youth including on-line meetings of young compatriots with participation of well-known experts and bloggers.
