02.08.2018

The Russian Literature History State Museum named after V. Dahl is going to invite residents of Moscow and guests of the capital for literary dinners.

A new project is to help how Prishvin treated his guests, what was the most favorite dish of Pasternak and the cuisine of what country was preferred by Mayakovsky, according to the website of the Year of Literature.

As was explained in the museum, the event is to join two components at a time – an excursion and a dinner party.

The guests will attend a museum and het to know the life style of the poets and writers. They will be told of the gastronomic traditions existing in the families of famous figures of literature. The invited chef will cook dishes used to be served for family table or treats inspired by literary plots.

The first literary dinner will take place on August 11. Its main subject is cuisine in the family of Boris Pasternak, the author of Doctor Zhivago, the Nobel Prize winner in literature. In a week on August 18, there will be a literary dinner dedicated to the singer of the Russian nature Mikhail Prishvin. On August 22, the authors of the project will invite guests for a dinner with Vladimir Mayakovsky.

Guests are welcome to have dinner and breakfast with Mayakovsky. On 12 and 26 of August there will be breakfasts in the French style. Mayakovsky was in the capital of France 9 times and wrote “I wanted to live and die in France, in there was not such a place like Moscow…”
