Ryazan hosts International Forum of Ancient Cities

More than 1,5 thousand people came to participate in the International Forum of Ancient Cities in Ryazan, a city in western Russia. The forum is held for the first time, Rossiyskaya Gazeta informs. Representatives from over 40 small and big cities 500+ years old from 13 countries came to participate in the event.

German, Bulgarian, Spanish, Italian, Greek, Estonian, Armenian and other population centers from abroad. Vladimir, Yaroslavl Tver, Tula, Vologda, Novgorod, Kazan, Moscow and others represent Russian history.

Extensive business program including round tables, conferences and discussions is planned in the frames of the forum. Experts of international standing to discuss the old towns' topical issues. Infrastructure development, cultural heritage and many other actual problems are to be discussed.

According to organizers, ancient cities have great potential to attract tourists. Despite all the differences, there are many common problems out on the table, such as hospitality issues and out-of-date transport infrastructure. Many towns miss hotels and restaurants.

The forum is a great platform for discussing problems, exchange experiences and new ideas.
