Syrian teens to become Russian cadets

Syrian teens will start to study in military training schools  in September, Izvestia newspaper informs. First group of soon-to-be cadets has already arrived to St. Petersburg. 

According to the  the Head of the Center for Russian-Arab Cooperation in St. Petersburg Waddah al-Jundi the education is going to be conducted based on the concluded agreements  between Moscow and Damascus. 

The Head of the diplomatic Syrian mission Riyad Haddad has added that the children go through adaptation period before the training begins. The Ambassador has shared that the Syrian students' recruitment is going to be done on an annual basis. 

Federation Council member Olga Kovitidi is sure that Syrian youth military training to augur well for peace and stability in such turbulent region as the Middle East.

Note, 500 Syrian students to start studying in Russia this year. This quotation is allocated for 2018/2019 academic year for the Syrian Arab Republic. Though there are even more people wishing to study in Russia. There are much more willing to study in Russia. About 1500 Syrian nationals applied for studying in Russian universities.
