The number of students from abroad who come to study at the Pskov State University is increasing, TASS reports. According to the rector of the university Yury Demyanenko, their number has increased more than 30 times for six years since the establishment.

He noted that in 2012 there was only forty foreigners at the university. This year there were about 1300 students from abroad. The representatives from more than 40 states were among them. The number of countries is also growing. Pskov State University used to be popular with students from the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Baltics, now there is a new trend. More people arrive from distant countries. Students from India, Tunisia, Vietnam and China come to Pskov.

They often choose language programs to learn Russian as a foreign language. It is necessary for them as they want to master subjects in Russian. Foreign students join all educational programs in Pskov State University without any restrictions: from beginning degrees to PhD.
