Kerch school bomb took lives of 19

The main version of the blast in Kerch school, Crimea, is a terrorist attack, TASS reports.  Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case. A bomb filled with shrapnel exploded at a college in the Crimean city of Kerch, killing 19 people and and injuring dozens who were immediately delivered to the city hospitals.

Sergei Aksyonov, the head of the Russian-backed administration in Crimea, has informed that that a criminal suspect has committed suicide. The attack was allegedly done by the 4th grade student of the same Crimean trade school.  

Russian President Vladimir Putin and  the Russian head of state Dmitriy Medvedev extended condolences to victims and their loved ones and ordered the authorities to evacuate badly injured victims by air to leading hospitals in Moscow and other cities. 

There are ongoing works on the bomb explosion site. Law enforcement officers question witnesses, and proceed with other investigation activities. Russian military helps to apart the rubble.

A three-day mourning period declared in Crimea. 

Explosives experts said the explosive device packed with metal objects was homemade. 

Transport security services have switched to a strengthened inspection regime. 

As of now the situation in the city remains secure and stable.
