State Duma Committee on Education and Science welcomes Czech delegation

The State Duma Committee on Education and Science has conducted a meeting with lawmakers of the Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport of the Czech Parliament on October 17.

Chairman of the Committee on Education and Science Viacheslav Nikonov recalled the traditional educational and cultural ties between the two countries, the press service of the committee reports.

“I am confident that the development of bilateral cooperation should reach the level of universities, research centers, schools, ministries, and specialized parliament committees," the parliamentarian claims.


"We have some issues to discuss and an interesting experience to exchange," Nikonov adds.

The participants of the meeting discussed the management of the scientific and educational sphere in their countries, the funding and the management at all levels of education.

Special attention was paid to programs for identifying and supporting talented children, problems of training highly qualified personnel, universities competitiveness, and promising areas of research.

The Russian committee was represented by its head Viacheslav Nikonov, Deputy Committee Chairman Lyubov Dukhanina, committee member Aldar Damdinov, head of the committee staff Pavel Kondrashov.

The Czech delegation consisted of the Czech ambassador to Russia Vitezslav Pivonka, Chairman of the Czech Parliament Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Vaclav Klaus, Committee Vice-Chairmen Karel Rais and Jiri Mihola, Committee member Ivo Pojezny etc.
