Russian language festival opens in Tallinn today, November 9. Pushkin Institute with support of Russkiy Mir Foundation organised this event. 200 schoolchildren from all over Estonia take part in the event.

The festival is held for a decade. Over this time, it has gained popularity in many Estonian schools where learning process includes Russian language. Newcomers are especially welcome here.

The director of the Pushkin Institute Russian School in Tallinn Inga Mangus calls this festival the “Russian language celebration.” Russian and Estonians have to know both languages, it will make their lives more colourful.

Organisers are sure that the festival has became more competitive and entertaining recently. Intellectual and creative means are important, as always. The competition aims to make Russian and Estonian kids get closer through team working and solving problems together.

Teachers think that festival doesn't have to be like an exam. Communication and cooperation are the main factors that will be essential also later in life.
