Eighty-four students have graduated from the first course of the High School of Translation, which opened at Heilongjiang University. The school is a joint project between the Chinese university and Moscow State University (MSU). Students will study for two years: one term for China and the other one in Russia, Xinhua reports.

After two years of study, graduates will learn to interpret (including simultaneous interpretation) and translate. They may work in diplomacy, international trade and other areas of interstate cooperation. Students will learn the United Nations translation standards and also have a broad outlook in various areas of world politics and economics. Russian and Chinese universities intend to develop a full-scale teaching and research interaction within the framework of a joint educational institution.

Moscow State University and Heilongjiang University professors will teach the courses. They will expand their skills and introduce advanced educational techniques. In addition, the organizers plan to invite specialists from all over the world to deliver lectures.
