Karen Shakhnazarov’s Anna Karenina. Vronsky's story has been screened for the first time in Buenos Aires. The hall of the one of the oldest movie theaters in Argentina Cine Cosmos was filled to its capacity, the Rossotrudnichestvo website reports. The Russian Federal Cultural Agency contributed to the holding of the Russian Cinema Week in Argentina, organized by the country’s Guild of Film Directors and the Russian Mosfilm Film Studio. The screenings of 15 Russian features are planned to be held within the framework of the event.
Shakhnazarov’s film received a standing ovation from the Argentinian spectators; the reviews were published in the leading newspapers and magazines in the country. The critics praised the bright and reliable image of the era, the brilliant acting and how carefully the director interpreted the book. The film will be screened in Argentinian cinemas until the end of December.

Anna Karenina. Vronsky's story is based on the novel by Leo Tolstoy and the works of Vikenty Veresaev. The world premiere of the film took place in the summer of 2017. In one and a half years the film had been screened on all continents of the planet, except Antarctica, and became a participant of several international festivals.

Anna Karenina. Vronsky's story has not been screened in Argentina before but it has already been brought to Latin America. Just over a year ago, in November 2017, the film was screened in Havana, where the viewers were very thrilled by it. Russkiy Mir reported that Russian film weeks are extremely popular in Cuba, as locals consider Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears and Seventeen Moments of Spring as favorite Soviet films.
