Strategies of socio-economic development for Far East discussed in Seoul

The Russian Center of Seoul National University (SNU), together with the Institute of Studies of Russia, Eastern Europe and Eurasia, as well as a number of other institutes took part in the second New Geoeconomics of Asia: views from some countries symposium on December 5. 

More than 100 people, mainly professors, researchers and graduate students, took part in the event.  Lee Kyung Wan and Vadim Slepchenko (associate professors at the Russian Language and Literature Department, SNU), presented the position of Russia and demonstrated the strategies of socio-economic development of the Far East: the creation of the Territory of Advanced Socio-Economic Development, the Mikhailovskaya Agricultural Center, the sports and tourist complex Mountain Air, the Eastern Economic Forum of Vladivostok and others.

At the end of the presentation, the speakers stressed that, in addition to the successful intergovernmental economic programs, cooperation between private companies of both countries is  also necessary.
