Russian capital hit top 10 cities that have the greatest appeal for tourists from abroad. Moscow took the 10th place. Capitals of Italy, Austria and Greece became the leaders, TASS reports. Barcelona and Paris took the 4th and 5th places.

About 2000 people who travel a lot became the survey participants. Respondents were British, German, Italian, American, and Asian.

The organizers of the survey noted that they wanted to define not just the popular cities, but but the “dream cities” - the places where one wants to return.

Many people want to return to Moscow, but objectively existing restrictions and stereotypes cause the hindrance. The first group includes language barrier, information accessibility, visa barriers and the absence of low-cost airlines. The second group includes the current opinion that Moscow is a very expensive city for tourists, and it is too far away. In addition, our capital is considered not safe enough.

However, Europeans can get to the capital of our country in two or three hours by plane. According to many experts, Moscow is much safer than most other cities. In addition, Moscow is beneficial for the guests from abroad  in economic terms.

According to statistics, the internal flow of tourists in Moscow has increased by 40% since 2012, and the number of foreign tourists has increased by 7%.
