Vladimir Putin speaks about plans to open Russian school and university in Kazakhstan

Negotiations of Russian President Vladimir Putin with his colleague from Kazakhstan were held in Moscow, the Kremlin website reports. Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev made his first official visit as Head of state to Russia

Vladimir Putin stressed that the negotiations were very constructive. According to Russian leader, there is no doubt that the President of Kazakhstan will pay close attention to further development of relations with Russia. The parties discussed cooperation in the military, energy and space areas. Presidents also touched upon the topic of cooperation in the international arena. 

Heads of state paid much attention to the development of relations in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. Countries plan to expand exchanges in science and culture. At the moment, they study the issue of creating a university and a new school in Kazakhstan, which will work according to Russian programs. There is also a discussion of the opening of a representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Almaty. Kazakhstani cultural and business center should start its work in Moscow. It will be located in Kazakhstan pavilion at the All-Russian Exhibition Center, which is being reconstructed now. 

Bilateral cooperation in the educational sphere is actively expanding. By tradition, highly qualified personnel for Kazakhstan in various specialties are trained by Russian universities. 

More than 73,000 citizens of Kazakhstan are currently studying in Russia. Several dozens of companies, universities and public organizations of Kazakhstan have contacts with Russian universities within the framework of joint educational programs. Russian scientists are actively involved in research projects in the republic.
